Crew of the Arctic Sunrise performs inflatable boat training in the Argentine Sea The Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise returns from Antarctica and begins its journey towards the Blue Hole in the South Atlantic, an area of overfishing in international waters at the limit of the Exclusive Economic Zone of Argentina, where vulnerable marine ecosystems will be investigated. After two months in Antarctica promoting research and witnessing the melting of the ice due to the increase in temperature, the Arctic Sunrise continues its journey demanding a Global Ocean Treaty, whose negotiations in New York took place from March 7th to 18th. Through this international agreement, tools could be generated for the creation of marine sanctuaries. The tour of the Arctic Sunrise will cover the entire length of the Argentine Atlantic coast, from Ushuaia to Buenos Aires, where it will arrive in mid-April.
